An attorney-at-law with over 20 years at the Jamaican Bar, Rochelle Cameron is a former Crown Counsel with the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions in Jamaica. She has served as the Caribbean Vice President of Legal and Regulatory for Telecommunications multinational, Cable & Wireless Communications. and Company Secretary of Cable & Wireless Jamaica Limited and its subsidiaries. She led several major projects including Telecommunications legislative reform and played significant roles in the planning and implementation of complex processes such as pension restructuring, property divestment and mergers and acquisitions. She added significant economic value to the organization through judicious guidance that ensured it co-existed and expanded in a rapidly changing regulatory and highly competitive Caribbean market.
In addition, Ms. Cameron served as Company Secretary of Cable & Wireless Jamaica Limited and its subsidiaries and has garnered significant experience while serving as an instrumental member of and advisor to the board and executive management; implementing strategic business growth initiatives, managing through crisis and change, and overseeing the corporate legal function.
Ultimately, however, she is focused on the development of people and is committed to helping organisations create an enabling environment in which colleagues are engaged and motivated to tap into and unleash their brilliance. In keeping with this passion for mobilizing people beyond their perceived limits, Ms. Cameron has also served as the Assistant Vice President of Human Resource Development and Public Relations at the Jamaica Broilers Group. She was a member of the Group’s Executive Team leading a cross functional team responsible for planning, developing, organizing and implementing the organization’s people and corporate communications function.
Ms. Cameron has managed through organizational transformation with calm, collaborative and decisive leadership and is established in the corporate community as an expert legal and business strategist and stimulating communicator. Her blend of business acumen and organizational skills allows her to be a valuable contributor on various private and public sector boards.
She is the founder and currently CEO of Prescient Consulting Services Limited a firm which supports organisations with the development and execution of impactful legal, people and communications strategies. As CEO of Prescient she leads a team of professionals in providing fit for purpose guidance and execution of among other things: Commercial Transactions; Corporate Governance; Retrofitting Organizational Design for Profitability; Leadership Enhancement; Talent Enlargement; Culture Transformation; Colleague Engagement and; Corporate and Crisis communications.
In addition to her legal training Ms. Cameron holds a Master of Business Administration in International Business, from the Mona School of Business and Management, and is a former lecturer at the institution. Ms. Cameron is a John Maxwell certified Coach, Trainer and Speaker. A keynote speaker at local and international conferences, she uses her inimitable “Adrenaline Roch” style of passion, high-energy and sense of humour to shape and deliver serious topics in a way that is both interesting and entertaining.
